Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year!
How did you spend your Xmas eve? Went to choose my gowns (see "Happily ever after")before having a simple steamboat dinner with Kate, Mandy, Brandon, SK and my parents... Really a nice cosy dinner. Played Wii and MJ aft dinner. Brandon, SK, Kate n Mandy playing Mario Party 8
See Kate's and Mandy's expressions after losing to the guys in one of the mini games
Mandy and SK engrossed in their boxing game...
Haha.. I cant differentiate which is mine.
It's really great to have a few frends celebrating Xmas together, far far away from the crowd...

Checking out but b4 leaving, see pics below ...
Look at the signs in the room.Weird English...
Had breakfast or brunch at the Modern Toilet Restaurant. Its theme is related to toilet so everything such as the deco, the seats, the tables, plates, bowls and utensils are related to toilet & toilet bowls especially... Modern Toilet Restaurant便所主题餐厅
(would you dare to try the food?) The deco of the restaurant
Their food... contained in toilet bowls, bath tub...
A real cute restaurant. The food is not too bad and is cheap...
(Note: Plse rem to make reservation if you wan to go there. We were the 1st 2 customers. In less than half an hour, it's full.)
After brunch, we went to buy some pastries, cosmetics and sme stuff for our weddding...

It's hot spring festival in Dec so ther's a free shuttle bus from HongShuLin MRT station. However, this bus only goes to JinShanWanLi Hot Springs. If you wan to know where are the hot springs in JinShanWanLi, let me know.
And ther's also special discount for 2 persons too... Anyway, we had a private hot spring room, called汤屋as I dun wan to wear swim suit and b in the public pool area with pple I dunno. We also saw 丹顶鹤(red head birds). There r alot of pple stopping at the roadside and watching the birds with bino. Heard that out of 1000, 4 flew to Taipei.
After soaking in nice hot water, we went to try the supposedly nice and famous duck meat. It's not as nice cos it's actually boiled duck meat. It's cooked the same way as the Hainanese chicken rice we have in SIN.
See this bicycle, can sit at least 3 passengers
YuRen Harbour tix. The ferry tix are not cheap leh..
At YuRen Harbour
The free admission concert
The Lover's Bridge
The cheapo seafood at Danshui. Made my lips itch aft tat
Took some pics there b4 going to ShiLin Night Mkt.... Once again we were too tired and the mkt is too big that we din have time and energy to walk...
Finally tried the oyster mee sua... I still prefer the one in SIN.
Bought the real real 臭豆腐back to hotel which stinks the whole room...

We wanted to go to the wholesale fashion mkt 五分埔服饰商圈 so we took MRT to HouShanPi MRT but we were too early. The shops opened from 2pm onwards. Thus, we took MRT back to Taipei City Hall station. Went for a tour @ Taipei 101 Observatory /Audio Tour. It was quite misty tat day so we couldnt see clear from the building. SK and I agreed tat the night view would be better. Pretending to look into the binoculars. The night view of Taipei 101, taken from Songshan Railway Station

Decided to go to just 2 places on Day 3 cos I wasnt feeling tat well. Had sme breads b4 walking to Ximen MRT. Passed by Red Playhouse so went in to take a look. It's a theatre for alot of performances such as drama, opera, etc. Red Playhouse 红楼剧场
There's a free shuttle bus outside the station to Taipei 101. But if you choose to walk, it will take aout 20mins.
As Xmas was near, the bus driver dressed up as a Santa Claus and the bus was decorated with balloons. So nice... See the balloons on the bus...
It's quite amazing that the lift took only 37 secs to reach 89th storey from the 5th storey... Tat's real fast...There's a audio machine that looks like a phone. You can listen to the introduction of the places around Taipei 101. Really know quite alot after the audio tour
This is taken from the building. Very blur right?
This is the map at the building.
With the mass damper that stablizes the buidling
Taipei 101. Curled ruyi figures appear throughout the building as a design motif. The ruyi, or "magic mushroom", is an ancient artistic motif connoting heavenly clouds, healing, and fulfilment. The symbol confers protection and marks the attainment of new career heights.
Once again, we took MRT back to HouShanPi MRT. By then, all shops were opened. It's really very big and they really sell lots of things... But as it's winter season, the clothes there were all so thick and long sleeves. Was v disappointed that I din get anything much. Was also tired from all the walking.
Next destination was Raohe Night Mkt 饶河街观光夜市which is opposite the rear of Songshan Railway Station. Actually it's a distance walk frm the Station. There's really lots of food and clothes, shoes and bags to buy. Personally I feel it's much better than Wufenpu.
However, I was feeling tired and sick that we just walked awhile b4 heading back to hotel by train 火车 (one stop away from Taipei Main Station)
