Day 3: 14 Dec
We wanted to go to the wholesale fashion mkt 五分埔服饰商圈 so we took MRT to HouShanPi MRT but we were too early. The shops opened from 2pm onwards. Thus, we took MRT back to Taipei City Hall station.
There's a free shuttle bus outside the station to Taipei 101. But if you choose to walk, it will take aout 20mins.
As Xmas was near, the bus driver dressed up as a Santa Claus and the bus was decorated with balloons. So nice...
Went for a tour @ Taipei 101 Observatory /Audio Tour. It was quite misty tat day so we couldnt see clear from the building. SK and I agreed tat the night view would be better.
It's quite amazing that the lift took only 37 secs to reach 89th storey from the 5th storey... Tat's real fast...
Pretending to look into the binoculars.
This is taken from the building. Very blur right?
This is the map at the building.
With the mass damper that stablizes the buidling
Taipei 101. Curled ruyi figures appear throughout the building as a design motif. The ruyi, or "magic mushroom", is an ancient artistic motif connoting heavenly clouds, healing, and fulfilment. The symbol confers protection and marks the attainment of new career heights.
The night view of Taipei 101, taken from Songshan Railway Station
We had lunch at the foodcourt at New York New York which is opposite Taipei 101. The food wasnt cheap so we shared a set meal, not bad though.
